Digital Neighbourhoods Programme

(NHS England South West Region)

Supporting the adoption and scale of AI-enabled population health technology across primary care, moving beyond pilot activity towards practical, sustainable use within real-world healthcare settings.

The programme brought together NHS organisations, clinical teams and technology suppliers, with a focus on implementation, adoption, governance, clinical safety and assurance. A scalable delivery and adoption approach was developed to support consistent implementation while allowing for local context, helping organisations understand how AI could be safely integrated into existing clinical and operational pathways.

The programme was recognised nationally, winning the HSJ Digital Patient Safety Award 2026 for its approach to digital clinical safety.
